I’ve moved to Nashville!
After five years in Japan, life has taken me to Music City.

Another Move
I’m excited to announce that I’ve moved to Tennessee for a new position as the social media specialist at the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville. After nearly five years in Fukui with the JET Program, it feels like the perfect opportunity to combine my multimedia experience with my interest in Japanese culture.
Moving from rural Japan to one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States is quite a shock! I’m excited to begin exploring Nashville and everything that Tennessee has to offer.
Leaving Dallas
I had just one short month in Dallas, Texas, with my family after returning from Japan, so this move has been a whirlwind of emotions. I drove to Nashville by myself, passing through Texarkana, Little Rock, and Memphis along the way. The journey took about 15 hours on the road.
I’m sad to leave my Dallas community of family and friends once again, especially after having spent so little time back home. Nevertheless, I know in my heart this is the right path for me. It’s a completely unexpected change, but I’m ready to see where it leads.
Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville
As social media specialist at the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville, I’ll be sharing information about Japan, Japanese culture, and connections between Japan and local communities. The Consulate serves five states: Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and, of course, Tennessee.

I’m particularly looking forward to covering events throughout the region, including the Japanese Moon Viewing Festival (Otsukimi) at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens on September 27.
Growing Nashville
It’s an exciting time to be in Nashville. The city has grown tremendously in recent years, attracting new residents, businesses, and visitors from around the country and the world. It seems like everyone is talking about Music City. After my time in rural Japan, I’m thrilled to rediscover America from Nashville.
