Evangelion 30th Anniversary
The classic Japanese anime Neon Genesis Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン) is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the exhibition All of Evangelion, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes.
Staged by Tokyo City View at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, 30th Anniversary Exhibition: All of Evangelion covers the series and subsequent films. The show features sketches and production notes by creator Hideaki Anno (庵野 秀明), as well as original animation cels preserved by the Anime Tokusatsu Archive Centre (ATAC).
I couldn’t miss the opportunity to check it out! It was wonderful to step back into the world of Evangelion. The animation cels are so beautiful in person, so saturated and warm. Please enjoy the gallery below.
30th Anniversary Exhibition: All of Evangelion is open through Monday, January 12th. Hours are from 10:00 to 22:00 (10:00 PM), with last entry possible at 21:00 (9:00 PM). Tickets cost 2,400 yen (about 16 USD) at the door. I recommend avoiding weekends, if possible.
